Island Mountain Arts • Women in Art | An Artist Talk + Film Night featuring Marlene Lowden

DID YOU KNOW...October is Women's History Month in Canada!

In honour of this, and Marlene Lowden's Incredible Exhibit "Blind Contour Homage," Island Mountain Arts invites you to join us on Friday October 29th for an Artist Talk and Short Film Program all about Canadian Women in art!

At 7:00 PM, we'll sit down with Marlene Lowden to hear more about her process, her exhibit, and her incredible research, followed by a Q and A!

After a short break, We'll watch two Canadian-made films (Thanks to the NFB for their assistance in making these screenings a possibility!

Film 1 | Eskimo Artist: Kenojuak* , an Oscar-Nominated short film by John Feeney from 1963.

*NOTE: This film title is rooted in time. In 1993, Filmmaker John Sweeney acknowledged that the term "Inuit" should have been used throughout the film (Inuk in singular)

Admission is by donation, with 1/2 of what's collected going to the Quesnel Women's Resource Centre!
